It may sound cliche but 2017 flown by so quickly before I could realize! What better way to start new year than to share my 2018 resolutions..right? Here are my top resolutions that I plan to achieve and try to become a better individual by end of this year (hopefully!).
- 100% Self Love and Care
Instead of making others happy, I will give importance to what I want. I need to shift the energy in a different direction and have relationship with myself first. I want to focus on mental, physical health and personal growth.
- Stay Focused and Organised
I can easily get distracted like while writing a post and adding a link to a product if I see some lovely offer on the site, I would start browsing millions of products until I get a good deal to content myself. I need to work on focusing on a particular task without being distracted to million things.
- Call my loved ones often
Not that I do not want to call anyone..its just that it doesn’t happen often due to time difference (I have been living abroad for past 7 yrs). Also, I have been pretty laid back when it comes to calling people mainly because my son wants all the attention when I’m on phone and when he is at pre-school, I want to get 1000 things done like photography and planning blog posts etc. I need to take some time out for calling my loved ones atleast once a week or may be 2 weeks and let them know they are important in my life. I wish it was easier for me to visit them often. Anyways, let me be the one who takes a step forward and reduce the gaps that distance has created all these years. Calling others should not be just special occasion thing!!
- Water intake + Juice
Water intake has been my major issue since I was young but I am downloading the water intake app while I’m writing this post. I also plan to intake a glass of fresh juice daily. Hopefully these will help me stay hydrated.
- Clean out Emails/Memory Cards/Laptop often
This one is pretty understandable. I always run out space on my phone, laptop and memory card of my camera. I do have Cloud storage option available to me but I rarely use that. I need to Organize photos/make proper folders and transfer to Cloud/External storage to keep my devices tidy.
- De-clutter my closet and Beauty Stash often – More Gifts & Donations
I started my beauty room with one closet and one chest of drawers and I was pretty content with lot of space in my house. Slowly, there were piles of products everywhere – on my beauty room floor, bedroom floor, on top of wardrobe! I now have 2 chests and one high cabinet entirely for beauty products. Can you imagine? I do give a lot of products away to friends and family but I need to declutter often and send them stuff to make room for new ones and stop hoarding packaging!! I should also donate the stuff that I know I won’t be using – be it clothes, accessories or beauty. Writing about which reminds me that I donated about 8 handbags, a bag full of clothes and shoes to a charity event for raising money recently and it felt so good!
- Social media breaks
So it already happened! I took a few breaks in last two/three months and this was the first time i did this since I started blogging. It felt amazing and I was so refreshed every time I took break. This helped me spending some quality time with my family while my eyes were off my phone. We watched a lot of movies together and ate some amazing meals. This also helped me staying away from shadow ban (which was a new and scary thing in 2017) on Instagram. I will continue taking breaks every now and then to refresh my mind and be able to post quality content.
- Photography & Editing
This is quite personal to everyone. You may like photos and posts of certain type/aesthetics but Instagram doesn’t really work like that. I have got inspiration from some amazing content creators and I do want to create some fab flatlays but the kind of photos I like are not product centric. They are aesthetically pleasing but they may not be clear what you want to tell to your audience. Everyone will leave comments about your photography and the purpose of sharing knowledge or experience will be lost. I want to balance aesthetically pleasing photos with clear message to my audience. I also want to learn more on photography and editing to improve my content.
- Publish photos of myself often.
I have started doing that already on my blog but I need to do this often and make regular appearance in front of camera.
- Magic of Not Giving a F**k
I am going to see the life changing magic of not giving a f**k as thinking too much about small matters takes away so much energy and time which can be used for better things.
Here’s one of my pics where I’m not wearing any makeup so my dark circles are quite evident, i hardly have brows and you can see a tyre of Fat around my waist too…haha but who gives a f**k, I am content and have accepted any flaws I have.
These are my top resolutions and not too difficult to achieve and I hope to continue working on these till the end and come out as a better person.
Until next time
Ash xoxo

6 January 2018 at 1:09 AMThese are some fantastic and thoughtful resolutions that I’m taking inspiration from too. I know what its like to have family living abroad and you’re right, its so easy for days and days to pass by before making contact, life is too short! Also I’m with you on the decluttering, for me a goal is to use more things up and film more empties videos/write more empties posts, because my goodness do I have a ridiculous amount of products piling up and not nearly enough space!
