April just flew by so quickly and I can’t believe we are in May already! Second half of the month we kept talking about chilly weather here in the UK but It’s getting better 😊
Though weather was not amazing during April, I was still loving some amazing products which I am going to talk about now 🙂
- Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – combination & sensitive skin | £4.99 (currently at discounted price in Superdrug) 400 ml
Garnier Micellar water is one of the best micellar water from drugstore and is often compared to Bioderma micellar water. I do not even know how many bottles I have gone through but the pink bottle (original) is one of my staples.
Last month I saw this green one which is for Combination and Sensitive skin in my local Superdrug and I picked this up instantly even though I had 3 backups for the original formula. I am glad i did that because I find this one so much better than the original one. Specially because I have added oil cleansers in my skincare routine and a swipe with this micellar water removes access oil and mattifies my skin. I have dry skin but is very sensitive so mattifying products can be too drying if I was not using oil cleansers as a first step in cleansing. This definitely is going to be my favourite for summer as well.
- Super Facialist by Una Brennan – Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Pure Purifying Clay Mask | £9.99 125 ml
I didn’t know how much I will enjoy clay masks until I used this bad boy! This whole Super Facialist range was introduced to me by my darling Sal @ummbaby. I am so glad she mentioned about this mask in one of the brand focus posts. This has become my holy grail now!!!!!!
This is a thick mask which dries hard. A spray of rose water or a toner can help in softening the mask after drying. I just use a slightly warm wet face towel to remove my face masks.
This mask visibly gives me a clearer complexion and bright face without being overly drying. My skin feels much cleaner and radiant. I recommend this mask to every one.
- Superdrug Vitamin E Moisture Hydrating face mask | £2.59 75 ml
My dry skin babes, this mask is a saviour! Seriously, this mask is an example of one of those products that prove skincare gems does not always have to be pricey and high-end. The main reason to buy this mask was to use it on days when I am not applying heavy duty masks or for days when my toner is heavy duty so to balance, I try to give a boost of moisture. I didn’t expect much when I bought this mask (just because at this price, I have never found a great product) but this is a game changer. If you haven’t tried this mask, i would recommend you to give it a go 🙂
This oil is a multi award winner and every one raves about this product. When my love for facial oils grew, I noticed this oil on some of the blogs. So, I bought the travel size essentials kit from Nuxe which is very affordable at £13.50
This is a multi use dry oil which can be used on face, body or hair. It is very light, gives a radiant glow and is not sticky at all. This oil gives me youthful glow and is definitely worth the hype. I will be buying a bigger bottle when I run out of this one. If you choose to buy Nuxe products, I recommend checking Nuxe website as you might get free deluxe samples or great deals.
On to some makeup faves now 🙂
- BarryM Speedy Quick dry nail paint – Personal Best | £3.99
I am so much into spring shades at the moment, this quick dry nail paint in Personal Best is a stunning soft lilac shade. Though weather is still playing up a bit, this nail paint surely gives a feel of spring/ summer. It does chip off a lit bit in a day or two so I recommends using a top coat over Speedy Quick Dry range.
I have really been enjoying Nyx Lip Lingerie in Exotic. I did a blog post on my Nyx liquid lipsticks collection here. I have two shades – Ruffle Trim & Exotic in this line and i have been reaching for Exotic quite a lot lately. Ruffle trim is a little drying on my lips ( but this can be worked with exfoliation and moisturising) and surprisingly Exotic is comfortable. This is a red tone brown shade and suits all skin tones. This range is long lasting specially the darker shades.
I have read mixed thoughts on lip lingerie from beauty bloggers. Lighter shades are said to be more drying and cling to dry patches but deeper shades are so good. If you haven’t tried these, i would suggest give these a go and you won’t regret.
- Mac Velvet Teddy | £15.50
This lipstick is a deep beige shade with matte formula and complements any skin tone. Despite being matte, it does not feels dry on the lips. This is one of the best selling Mac lipsticks and works with any kind of makeup looks.
- L.A. Girl Pro Conceal – Orange Corrector | £2.95 – £5
I have been using L.A. girl concealers from couple of years now but started using the orange corrector since last winters. I tell you, this is the most pigmented orange corrector I have ever used. This corrector does not crease under my eyes and I prefer this over my Bobbi Brown corrector. This is available on Beauty Bay but i bought mine from Ebay ( as you get this cheaper on Ebay).
- Sleek blush – Coral | £4.49
Corals and Orange blushes suit me best and this is a beautiful matte coral blush. Sleek blushes are super pigmented and so affordable. I have so many blushes in my collection and sleek has to be my favourite drugstore brand when it comes to blushes. I even mentioned this blush in ‘You make me blush!!!‘ post.
You can get sleek blushes in 3 for 2 or Buy one Get one Half price offers in Boots and Superdrug.
- Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow Kit – Light to Medium | £49
This is definitely the star of this post 🙂 This kit needs no introduction and is so much talked about in the beauty industry. The bronze side is very subtle and is easily visible on paler as well as lighter skin tones but for medium skin tones, this shows up soft in the beginning and you need to build this up. The highlight is so finely milled and is a  stunning champagne shade that looks gorgeous on all skin tones. I loved using highlight from this kit all through the April month.
Now on to something different – Air freshener!
- Air wick – Mulled wine by the Fire
A nice scent is very welcoming while entering a house:)
I usually buy Air wick Linen (which is very crisp, fresh and addictive) Auto spray refill for our bathroom but I needed something different for our porch area. I found this set (Automatic spray diffuser + spray bottle) in B&M Milton Keynes at a discounted price (i think around £4.99) and I am glad i picked this up.
This has a sweet woody notes and is a very romantic as well as warm fragrance. This is a perfect choice at our entrance.
This has been out of stock on websites for such a long time (I don’t know if its discontinued) but some stores definitely have these on shelves.
What have been your faves last month? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned above? Or do we share any of the faves last month? Let me know in the comment section below 🙂

7 May 2016 at 8:04 PMThank you Georgia. The highlight is gorgeous no doubt but the sculpt / bronzer shade doesn’t work on my medium light skin tones. It should work fine on lighter girls 🙂
