Rescuing my dry, sensitive skin with Avène

I have had combination to oily skin for so many years but when I became pregnant about a few years ago, my hormones changed and my skin shifted towards dry and sometimes really sensitive. After some research, I was directed to Avène – A skincare brand developed especially for dry and sensitive skin!

Avène Tolérance Extrême Cleansing Lotion – This is a cleanser I tend to use when my skin is super sensitive or sometimes sensitized with overuse of acids. This cleanser is specially designed for hypersensitive and allergic skin. The no-rinse formula soothes redness, itching, and tightness. This lightweight lotion gently removes dirt and impurities, whilst relieving skin for long-lasting comfort.

Avène Thermal Water – This thermal water or toner is another gorgeous product to add to your skincare routine if you suffer from irritated, sensitive skin. Its unique formula soothes hypersensitive, allergic and irritated skin by leaving a barrier on the skin to deliver long-lasting comfort and reduce itching. Not only for Sensitive skin but this mist can also be used by the whole family. This thermal water is ideal for cooling sunburn, nappy rash, and razor burns caused by shaving. I bought the smaller bottle as well so I could keep it in my purse for when I’m out and about.

Avène Tolérance Extrême Cream – Now if you have dry or dull skin, this cream is a godsend for you! It will nourish even the most sensitive skin types. This rich cream restores an optimum balance for a smooth and hydrated complexion. It soothes irritation and adds an intense burst of moisture to the dry and dehydrated skin. This is suitable for daily use.

Avène Cicalfate Skin-Repair Emulsion Post-Procedure – Though this one is not for regular use, if your skin gets sensitized easily or if you had a dermatological procedure like lasers, peels etc. , this cream will help repair or heal the skin quicker. This is a light emulsion with a non-greasy, non-sticky texture that is easy to apply, even to skin irritated by a dermatological procedure. This emulsion has calming, purifying, and restorative properties. This formula is transparent after application. I use it once in a while when I have sensitized skin after overuse of acids or if any skincare ingredient reacts with my skin.

All these products contain Thermal water as one of the key ingredients that calms the skin. These products do not have any fragrance so they might smell like chemist’s products but trust me that shouldn’t bother your nose at all. The smell will disappear in a minute or so.
