Best Fragrance Launches of 2021

Whether you’re looking for a subtle or a striking scent, perfume houses have been launching everything from soft to more potent alternatives. Here are some of the best fragrance launches from 2021.

Laboratorio Olfattivo Vanagloria – Thrilled to share the magic of the Master Perfumer Dominique Ropion – The nose behind some of the world’s most incredible fragrances. Vanagloria – a part of Master’s Collection from Laboratorio Olfattivo is an incense resinous vanilla fragrance for men and women. This is a very unique smokey incense vanilla fragrance that brings joy to the senses. Imagine eating a piece of vanilla cake with some incense sticks burning in the background. The smoke from the incense sticks and the delicious vanilla together creates a magical cocooning effect. Vanagloria highlights vanilla bean in the most beautiful way. It is so intoxicating that you’d want to wear it for yourself more than anyone else. For me, Vanagloria gives comfort to my senses and wraps me in a blanket of vanilla. Vanagloria comes in Eau de Parfum 15% concentration.

Fragrance du Bois Cavort – Fragrance du Bois launched the new ‘For Lovers’ Collection late last year. The collection has two new fragrances – Cavort & Secret Tryst made for lovers and are meant for sharing. CAVORT is alluring, seductive, and addictive for me. It evokes the feeling of excitement of the first encounter. Florals and incense shine in CAVORT. It projects a lot from my skin and attracts compliments. It sure stimulates the senses and makes me feel so attractive. It has that magnetic pull of attraction. Cavort is a great sexy, sensual fragrance for him or her.

Fragrance du Bois Secret Tryst – Secret Tryst stays close to the skin but is very addictive. It is a mysterious fragrance for passionate and adventurous lovers. It is a vetiver grass-like and cedar kind of fragrance and gives a mysterious forest vibe with a dash of spices. The florals are there in the background but the green and the woody elements do the most talking. The spices stand out and so does the frankincense but the florals and the sweetness from vanilla balance the composition. The dry down is subtle but so irresistible and addictive. Secret Tryst doesn’t project much and stays close to the skin which is perfect for a couple.

BDK Parfums Velvet Tonka – The newest from BDK Parfums Paris is Velvet Tonka and this is such a beauty! I love this brand so much that I bought two more of their fragrances recently. Velvet Tonka is such a unique sweet perfume like an airy fluffy cake with sugar icing! It is sweet but not too sweet, it is very delicate and sophisticated. There is vanilla, a lot of almonds, tonka bean which together make a beautiful concoction. It has orange blossom, rose, amber, and some tobacco to add a touch of smokiness to this floral gourmand composition. The fragrance is a bit powdery and delicately sweet – it is inspired by Moroccan sweets. My husband loves it on me and I love it on him. If you love sweet fragrances but do not want to go into the dense category, Velvet Tonka is just the right fragrance for you!

Goldfield & Banks Sunset Hour – Sunset Hour is a very beautiful and mass-appealing fruity gourmand scent from the Australian luxury niche fragrance house – Goldfield & Banks. This fragrance is a sumptuous cocktail of fruits, spices, and florals. It brings joy to the senses and transports me to my happy place aka sipping a fruity peachy cocktail on a beach. It is a very luscious, juicy scent that attracts compliments. It can be worn during the day or night and is great for brunch, lunch with friends, coffee date, or even a candle-lit dinner! It is a very sexy, sensual scent for both men and women.

Initio Parfums Prives Musk Therapy – This is a very clean-smelling fragrance with a little bit of zestiness from citrus in the opening. White magnolia makes it slightly sweet and creamy and Musk, as well as Sandalwood, makes it powdery and dry. It is fluffy, a bit soapy, intimate, and sensual. It is soft, calming, and pleasant to the senses. Musk Therapy is complicated but very sensual and sexy – almost like a second skin. It is a bit soapy, seductive and comforting at the same time.

Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 + Patchouli – Patchouli is often associated with a period of the sixties and seventies but perfumer Geza Schoen has presented it in a very modern way. Iso E Super is an abstract synthetic molecule characterized as a cedarwood note with a warm, velvety cocooning sensation. Patchouli is a natural extracted from the leaves of the patchouli plant. Geza used two qualities of Patchouli – 5% of Patchouli Coeur which is a very clean, soft patchouli oil fraction with the camphor-like top note removed. He has also included 2% patchouli oil from Indonesia to round it out with a little bit of top note. This is a very soft, clean patchouli scent with a faint sweetness to it. The dirty notes have been smoothed/mellowed down but it still retains its earthy-woody character. Iso E super carries patchouli on a fluffy cloud making it modern. This one projects like crazy but it is still subtle and not overpowering. The fragrance doesn’t compromise on its minimalist character. It feels cool and airy. This is the most sensual of all M+ fragrances!
