I have a thing for facial oils be it for cleansing or for moisturizing. If you are a regular reader, you would know I love pampering myself every evening and even if I do not have much time, I make sure I double cleanse, tone and moisturize.
I got really excited when Amanda from Bravura London kindly sent this full size First Cleanse Oil for me to try. I have been using this since this arrived (also posting continuously on my Instagram). This oil comes in a beautiful, classy frosted recyclable glass bottle with a pump for ease of use. As its a First Cleanse Oil, you know where it fits in your double cleanse routine. This is also great as a Morning cleanser when you should only opt for gentle cleansers and only cleanse once.
Oil cleansers attract dirt, grime and even access oil. Cleansing with oil is not only good for dry skin but also work really well on combination and oily skin types. Bravura London’s First Cleanse Oil is fabulous at cleansing and makeup removal without drying your skin. One of the best things you can do for your face is give it a massage, it stimulates the removal of toxins and leaves the skin with a lovely glow and so it really wakes your skin up after it’s been squished in to your pillow all night. Because it turns milky with water there is no residue left on the skin so you won’t be left looking oily.
Ingredients Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride(From Coconut Oil), Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate (emulsifier), Tocopherol (Vit.E), Anthemis Nobilis Oil* (Roman Chamomile Essential Oil), Lavandula Officinalis Oil* (Lavender Essential Oil), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil*. *Certified Organic
The main oil in this cleanser is Safflower oil, Pressed from the blooming plant’s seeds, safflower oil contains linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that offers many benefits for skin. This acid is a key reason why safflower oil works so well in skin care products, Linoleic acid offers powerful dirt- and oil-removing abilities without aggravating the skin. Coconut and Avocado oils nourish the skin while Vitamin E is a fantastic, natural antioxidant. Essential oils of Lavender, Chamomile and Rosemary are soothing and purifying, the essential oil content is enough to offer the benefits from their natural properties but low enough to avoid causing irritation, particularly to sensitive eyes.
How to use: Apply a small amount to the palm of your hands and massage over the face and neck while your skin is dry. To remove eye make-up, close your eyes and spread gently over the eyes and eyelashes. Add water to transform the oil into a milky cleanser. Rinse with warm water or for best results, remove with a warm wet cotton flannel.
Price: This oil retails for £14.50 for 150 ml and can be purchased from Bravura London website.
This product is Vegan-friendly and Eco-friendly.
Overall thoughts: If you’re looking for a high quality emulsifying cleansing oil on a budget, you should definitely try this. This cleanser is a treat to use on my Combination to Dry and Dehydrated skin. This cleanser doesn’t make my skin feel tight or dry but makes it look nourished and clean. As this is an emulsifying oil, it will not clog your pores. I wear contact lenses and have sensitive eyes but this oil is well tested on my skin and eyelids so I can safely recommend this for any skin type really!
Until next time..

26 April 2017 at 8:16 PMI have tried a full Bravura range and whiilst I love their chemical exfoliators, I rate this cleansing oil the least. I have sensitive eyes and it was quite harsh on them. I like it all over the face and neck but once it cones anywhere close to my eyes, it makes me cry for days. It doesn’t clock my pores either but as a cleansing oil, I don’t rate it for around the eyes:/ x

28 April 2017 at 12:00 AMHow weird is that! I wear contact lenses and have sensitive and watery eyes too. Its quite strange a product works for one person while doesn’t for another. I see the oil used to come in different packaging earlier. I am not sure if u tried the new one. I do not know if the formulation have changed but this one works great for me and I enjoy using this every single time Dorota x

28 April 2017 at 12:02 AMThanks Danielle. I have tried samples of glycolic acid 5% & 10% from Bravura and love both of them. I would try more products from their range.

29 April 2017 at 1:36 PMI still haven’t got around to trying anything from this brand.when it comes to cleansers I generally use cream or balm formulas but id like to try an oil as it sounds as though it could be more effective for the eye area. Great review Ash. xx
