I recently discovered that Caudalie started doing fragrances. As a fan of their skincare and brand’s ethics, I had to try one of their fresh fragrances. There were quite a few to choose from and I picked the newest Eau des Vignes* which has notes of bergamot, iris and white musk.
Caudalie says – Eau des Vignes is a fresh and subtle fragrance that carries you to a summer garden at the heart of the vineyards, where the sparkling bergamot meets the elegance of iris and the sensuality of white musk.
Eau Des Vignes was launched in June 2017 and was created by Alberto Morillas ( Creator of world’s most iconic perfumes ) and Mathilde Cathiard–Thomas (Founder of Caudalie).
Packaging: This fragrance comes in a stylist sleek glass bottle with slight engraving of grapes pattern which looks very chic and tells a bit about brand’s theme as well as great for grip on a bottle. The bottle comes in a brown cardboard cylindrical tin with floral pattern making it stand out even more.
Composition: Alcohol Denat*, Aqua/Water/Eau, Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene, Linalool, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate (Octisalate), Geraniol, Citral, Coumarin, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citronellol. (204/006).

More about notes
As an opening, Perfumer Alberto Morillas has chosen hesperidia notes from his native Seville. They set the tone: clarity, sophistication and colour! There is essence of lemon for fight, essence of bergamot for sweetness and essence of orange blossom for femininity. Joyful and sparkling, highly desirable notes.
The pivotal point of the composition is velvety, subtly aromatic, lifted with a spicy touch. You can detect the elegance of iris, the vibrance of clary sage (slightly amber, slightly herbaceous) and a surprise; a handful of spirited pink peppercorns.
The fragrance settles lengthily on the body, loyal and stable from the white musk, element that Alberto Morillas knows exceptionally well. As light as feathers, powdery, misty, diaphanous like a caress. A little bit of incense, ambroxide, with a wonderful accent of ambergris, and it’s done :).
“I’ve always loved the scent that lingers on the fingers when you rub the peel of citrus fruit, when you crumple leaves that are wet with dew or petals gathered in the summer in the Smith Haut La Lafitte garden. Eau des Vignes, the latest in the Fresh Fragrance range, relays this sure idea of happiness.” – Mathilde Thomas
This fragrance refreshes & leaves a delicate scent that lingers on all day. It does not contain any artificial colours either.
Price & Availability: This fragrance retails for £26 for 50 ml and is available at www.caudalie.com and selected stocklists nationwide.
Overall thoughts: This summer-y fragrance refreshes and lifts up the mood. This lingers all day and will transport you to gardens of France. I am not a fragrance expert and may be an amateur when it comes to describing scents. But this is something I really want you to give a sniff and I am confident you’ll like this.
