Fragrances for New Year Eve

It is hard to believe that this year literally flew by. I have memories from past Christmas fresh in my mind and now countdown to 2019 has already started. Though some of us will be chilling at home for a cozy New Year Eve while others would be partying hard. I have picked some of my fragrances which are perfect for this time of the year and make a lovely choice for either parties or a cozy night in.

• Charlotte Tilbury Scent of a Dream (Women)

This is a mysterious sharp floral chypre scent that attracts power, love, sex and positivity. This fragrance features a blend of top notes including Lemon, Peach and Black Pepper, heart notes of Jasmine, Frankincense, Tuberose and Violet, plus base notes of Fire Tree, Iso E Super, Patchouli and Ambroxan. This has a bit of everything in it and is not a casual scent. This fragrance should be worn for special occasions only and in a particular type of setting like a Date night. For parties, this would be a head turner and men will go crazy.

• Atelier Cologne Musc Impérial (Unisex)

Atelier Cologne Musc Impérial Cologne Absolue is a sophisticated yet bright elixir captures unique clary sage and bergamot in the warmth of seductive musk and ambrette. Top notes: Bergamot, sclary sage and blackcurrant. Heart notes: Lavender, fig and leather accord. Base notes: Musk ambrette and cedar wood. The rich woody and musky notes will make a perfect pick for cold weather specially on New Year Eve/parties.

• Maison Francis Kurkdjian Oud Satin Mood (Unisex)

What can I really say about one of the bestsellers from Maison Francis Kurkdjian – Oud Satin Mood?! Its a blast of seductive Turkish rose and oud in the background and a touch of vanilla. Reminds me of cotton candy too but not too sweet. This oriental, woody, floral fragrance works for both men and women and will be an attention grabber.

The problems began at the age of 33. That was the main reason why I started up with a dose of 25 mg. • Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne (Women)

The sensuality of a daring red dress. Ruby-rich juices of pomegranate, raspberry and plum are spiked with pink pepper and laced with Casablanca lily and spicy woods. Dark and enigmatic. The fragrance is quite bold and rich but it smells beautiful on a confident woman who is ready to rock the world. Perfect for party situations or anywhere you want to stand out (but for colder evenings only). Once you smell this, you would want to invest in complete pomegranate range too.

• Marc Jacobs Decadence (Women)

Marc Jacobs Decadence is glamorously luxurious and impulsively indulgent. This fruity, floral and woody scent is big, bold and powerful in a good way. It is an edgy fragrance yet people-pleaser. It is definitely for cold evenings specially for fall and winter. It is a perfect fragrance for night-outs, clubbing and partying. The fragrance separates itself from the crowd because it has a character. Great for edgy, powerful women. This is a perfect pick for parties as it is a head-turner fragrance and will get you many compliments (but you need to have that confidence to wear this one).

• Burberry Body Intense (Women)

This is a woody, floral, creamy and clean scent which smells sensual, modern and sophisticated. This fragrance is extremely strong on white floral with heavy dose of musk. It has unmistakable musk notes here and leans towards more mature and intimate situations. This is a long lasting fragrance and may be quite heavy if you are not used to heavy scents. You do not have to spritz a lot with this one..just a couple of spritz from a distance and it will last all day. This fragrance would be a versatile choice for both date night or a New Year party.

• Tom Daxon Midnight Saffron (Unisex)

Midnight Saffron is such a beauty! A deep, dark take on rich, precious saffron, Tom Daxon’s Midnight Saffron is a lasting fragrance for memorable evenings. In the dead of night, bitter-sweet saffron awakens delicate, aromatic lavender for an unexpected yet pleasant accord. Distinctive and unique, it makes an unforgettable mark on a special occasion. I absolutely love wearing this one and think it makes a perfect fragrance for New Year Parties.

• Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensée (Unisex)

Vanille Insensée Cologne Absolue is my personal favourite from Atelier Colognes. It is from Avant Garde Collection which is all about warm, audacious and unexpected notes. This is a very unique Vanilla scent I ever smelt and that’s due to a burst of crisp citrus notes with vanilla.

This is very bright & sparkling vanilla which is refreshing, uplifting and is different in comparison to other vanilla scents you might have smelt. It is not usual sweet Vanilla. The vetiver notes calms the vanilla here and you can wear this fragrance anywhere. The fragrance is absolutely indulging and is perfect for any weather. The longevity is pretty impressive and though it is a vanilla scent, it will smell amazing on either gender.

• Armani Code Cashmere (Women)

This Oriental Floral fragrance is a perfect pick for date nights or special evenings. Cashmere from Armani Code range was launched in 2017 and features orange blossom as well as jasmine sambac as top notes. Middle notes are heliotrope, almond milk and iris while the base notes are suede, incense, leather and patchouli. The fragrance has great projection and longevity. This would be my top recommendation for Date nights, coffee runs or candle light dinners. So if the New Year Eve is all about cozy date with your loved one, this is the fragrance to wear.

• Roger & Gallet Magnolia Folie (Unisex)

Magnolia Folie by Roger & Gallet is a sophisticated floral woody scent with a touch of spice. It is a combination of Magnolia Flower essence and Absolute of Orange flower as well as precious distilled essences of Jasmine, Cedre and Patchouli. This is a relaxing and restorative fragrance that promotes self-confidence and creativity. This one would be a good pick for a date situation on New Years Eve.
