Is Guerlain L’or Radiance Concentrate worth the splurge?

When it comes to Makeup, I totally incline towards glow-y or radiance enhancing bases. If not, I opt for anything that plumps and hydrates my skin. I have been trying out Guerlain L’or Radiance concentrate which has 24 karat gold flecks in it and this is my first pick from the brand.

Guerlain is a Parisian luxury beauty brand founded in 1828. For almost two centuries, Guerlain has been in love with everything that beauty encompasses. Guerlain l’Or Radiance Concentrate is an embellishing make-up base sprinkled with pure 24-carat gold flakes. Like the most luxurious jewellery pieces, the precious flakes were crafted into ultra-sparkling and ultra-reflective particles, then dispersed in a hydrating smoothing gel. The complexion is beautified. It glows with divine and unfailing radiance. Skin is smooth, supple and satiny, ready for perfect, enhanced and long-lasting make-up.

L’Or has a distinctive and delicate floral scent. The first peach note blended with an accord of vegetal notes is fresh and sparkling. The rose, raspberry and jasmine heart is enriched with a powdery base of balsamic, benzoin and white musk.

How to Use: Take a small amount of gel on the back of your hand and gently apply to your face, working outwards to even out creases and smooth lines. Wait a few seconds before applying foundation. The secret of absolute radiance is to mix a few drops of fluid foundation and l’Or in the palm of your hand for an incredibly light texture.

Guerlain L’or Radiance Concentrate with 24K Gold comes in 30 ml bottle and can be purchased from Notino for £45.90.

But is this expensive primer really worth the splurge?

Absolutely! It is believed that pure Gold has skincare benefits like healing properties as well as providing radiance. The primer has almost like a serum consistency and absorbs into skin boosting hydration and the gold flecks gets absorbed as you rub the primer giving a beautiful glow. Skin looks plump and radiant. Makeup applies smoothly after applying this primer and stays longer too. As the primer is clear, any skin tone/ complexion can use this. Overall, A winner in my opinion and I highly recommend investing in this if you are looking for a good primer that enhances radiance and plumps skin along with increasing wear time of makeup.

Have you tried this makeup enhancer before? What do you like from Guerlain? If you have not tried anything from this brand yet, would you like to try? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time

  8. I’ve been intrigued by this primer but I’m not sure if it would be worth the splurge for me as I want my primer to be more blurring then glowing. Also, I’m very surprised to see Alcohol as a third ingredient! This primer must be actually drying if used regularly. x

  9. This looks so similar with YSL primer, have you tried that? If yes then how does it compares to this?

    1. I ahve that ysl touche eclat primer too. That one is blurring primer and has fine shimmer. This one is hydrating and radiance primer and the gold flecks you see here is actual gold and melts into skin. I had same doubt before trying this one Shireen.

  10. It’s hard to find a makeup primer which offers skincare benefits as well. This one is great!
