Hello Loves,
Hope you’re well.
I recently shared my views on MakeUp Academy Iridescent Gold highlighter so I thought it would be a good idea to share how I feel about MakeUp Revolution highlighter in Golden lights (which falls under similar price range and is a drugstore as well).
MakeUp Academy is much older brand than Makeup revolution but MUR has progressed so quickly and have been strong competitors to eachother. Impressively, MUR has not only developed products similar to MUA but has also duped almost every high end brand. The price range is super affordable from £1-£12 if I am not wrong. The quality is really good for that price. Unlike luxury brands, they have kept their packaging very simple and plastic-y. However, they are providing a wide selection of good quality products at an affordable price. Justified!
Talking about this highlighter, it comes in a plastic pan with black plastic on bottom and a clear one on the top. The name of the product is written in gold on clear plastic which gets rubbed off very quickly (little annoying but we can get over with this). Its a good size pan with 7.5 gms of product.
It swatches beautifully and has silver – gold shimmer (when you move your hand which is finely milled. However, when you blend it, you can definitely see the shimmer particles. It looks beautiful in pictures and videos. I shared a small clip of how it looks on my skin on my instagram here.
I have inserted a comparison swatch with Makeup academy iridescent gold as well as cult favourite of beauty world Mary lou manizer highlighters. This highlighter retails for £3 in the UK and is definitely a Yes from me 🙂
Overall rating: 4/5
Hope this post would have helped those who are thinking of buying a drugstore highlighter.
Loads of love, Akanksha (Ash)
