#Beautyhasnoage …well clearly!!! When I see photos of Maleka Dattu (Creator of Merumaya), I find her ageing gracefully and looking beautiful day by day. I was sure her skincare line had secrets to wonderful skin so I had to try some of her products.
*Retinol Resurfacing Treatment | £33.50 for 30ml was recently launched by Merumaya and I was quite intrigued by it because I have been using Retinoids in my skincare routine from past few months now.
Retin based skincare products have ability to reduce wrinkles, increase blood flow in skin, fight acne, treat sun damaged skin, increase cellular turnover, boost collagen and even out skin tone. Retinols and Retinoids are different from eachother. Retnoids are heavy strength Retins and can only be available on prescription unless its in mild form. They work deep on lower layers of skin and improve the quality of the skin.
I have suffered from acne since I was 15 years old. I have tried everything. The only thing that more or less helped me was contraceptive pills. However, then it turned out into a horror. At the age of 19 I decided to take Accutane Isotretinoin at https://accisotret.com. I have to say that I have decided to write a review after reading hundreds of disputes in various acne forums. Since I was treated in Canada, and my doctor was a practicing dermatologist in the United States, then perhaps my experience will solve some of these disputes. Indeed an overwhelming percentage of the population has taken Accutane in these countries. I’m happy! If suddenly everything returns as it happens in 20% of patients, I will undoubtedly take the second course (although I really hope that I won’t need it). It has been two months after the end of the reception. The skin is much better now, there is no acne.
Retinol is a technical term for Vitamin A and it often causes irritation and inflammation by the way it works, so Merumaya has combined it with speciality natural ingredients that counter these negative effects and impart additional benefits. Finally, a Retinol Resurfacing Treatment™ that doesn’t have your face looking like, it is literally falling off!
Vitamin A (Retinol) used in the maximum permitted dose, it is an extremely effective ‘cell-communicating’ active ingredient, which is able to connect to skin cell receptor sites and tell them to behave like healthy, younger skin cells. Vitamin A boosts cell turnover, peeling away top layers to even skin tone, thicken the new skin layers and effectively smooth out wrinkles. For all these reasons and it’s ability to regulate sebum, it shows superb results for sensitive acne skins and reduces the visibility of resulting scarring. Retinol is unstable so Vitamin A Palmitate, a stabilised version with proven efficacy has been used in this treatment.
Aroleat Samphira is an incredible active ingredient imitates the beneficial effects of Retinol, but without causing skin irritation. Vitamin A (Retinol) is well known to stimulate inflammation as it works, resulting in redness, flaking, irritation and dryness. Aroleat Samphira has been proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, even out the skin tone, regulate sebum and reduce inflammation. Used together with Vitamin A, Aroleat Samphira allows Vitamin A to provide its many skin benefits without the associated inflammation.
Never before has a Retinol Treatment included Matrixyl 3000 which is a peptide blend with powerful skin repairing effect. It restores key proteins including fibrillin which is broken down with ageing. Matrixyl 3000 is a blend of an oligopeptide and tetrapeptide. It works together perfectly with Vitamin A to improve deep wrinkles. Mediacalm™ is an active ingredient from Boerhavia Diffusa Root. Thanks to its outstanding calming properties, it restores all softness to the skin and provides line soothing, whilst stimulating the release of anti-irritant neuromodulators in the skin. Two different weights of Hyaluronic Acid. Has the double effect of retaining moisture in the epidermis and dermis while also activating the skin’s own beta defensins, that help to prevent the microbial invasion that causes spots.
Squalane is a natural component of the skin’s natural lipid barrier. Squalane from Olive Oil origin has been used in the product. This gives a luxurious feel to skin while supporting and reinforcing the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
This sounds so scientific but really promising!
How to Use: Use after cleansing or serum, night time only. Avoid eyes and mouth. With Retinols, use of SPF is important as the skin gets very sensitive. It is recommended to use SPF during the day.
This treatment comes in an airless pump packaging which I prefer. It will not contaminate the product after few uses and is easy to use and travel with.
The product is very creamy and gets absorbed easily into skin without leaving any residue. It will not leave your skin drier either.
Initial Results: It is too early to tell any anti-ageing effects** or results on my skin but after using this for few weeks, my skin is definitely more even tone, texture is smoother and I haven’t noticed any side-effects on my combination to dry skin. You may not see me talk about any anti-ageing** results from this product anytime soon as I am in my early 30s and do not have much signs of ageing yet. I will continue using this and let you know if I see any more significant changes in my skin.
I am quite impressed with this treatment and may explore more from the brand.

** Edit: Anti – ageing effects particularly wrinkles.
Until next time
