Mary Kay is one of the largest global direct sellers of skin care and colour cosmetics. The brand was founded in 1963 by legendary entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mary Kay Ash.
Mary Kay Ash – One of the pioneers of the beauty industry launched the innovative cosmetics brand ‘Mary Kay’. Mary Kay Ash had a huge dream to inspire and empower women all over the world to take control and transform their lives. And in turn, those same women could help to transform the lives of women around them.
I got chance to try few of Mary Kay’s makeup products few months ago and been loving them so I thought its just right time to feature them on my blog today.
- CC Cream Sunscreen SPF 15 | £19 for 29ml
This cc cream not only acts as a makeup base but also provides skincare benefits too. This is lightweight, provides light to medium coverage like a naturally flawless look but feels as if you’re not wearing anything on your skin. It provides instant brightening, protection against future damage, hours of hydration to diminishing the look of blemishes and redness. The formula is very silky and gives a satin finish for healthier, younger and more vibrant skin.
8 benefits from Mary Kay cc cream:
- Protects
- Brightens
- Corrects
- Minimises Redness
- Conceals
- Hydrates
- Reduces Visible Signs of Ageing
- Defends
I use my fingertips to apply this for a natural look but you can use makeup sponge or brush as per your choice. You can also layer this under your favourite foundation for a full coverage. This is available in 4 shades (Very Light, Light-to-Medium, Medium-to-Deep and Deep) to suit every skintone. I am closest to shade Medium-to-Deep in Mary Kay CC Cream and I am in shade 6 in Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk for your reference.
- Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick – Naturally Buff & Scarlet Red | £14 each
These lipsticks deliver radiant color with luminous shine. The formula is very soft cushion-y on the lips and these are intensely pigmented with gorgeous color clarity. The lipsticks are long-lasting and do not make lips look or feel dry. The lipsticks have soft-focus effect and blur the appearance of minor imperfections. I have got two classic shades – Naturally Buff which is a gorgeous nude shade and looks amazing with smokey eyes or any dark eye makeup look and the other one Scarlet Red which is also an essential because a girl loves her red lipsticks. These lipsticks are available in 12 shades.
I love that Mary kay Cosmetics has these mini eyeshadow compacts perfect for travelling. These compacts come with a mirror and a hidden tray underneath to keep small applicators if you want to. The compact has magnetic refill system and is scratch as well as scuff resistant which is a plus. One compact can fit two quads.
- Mineral Eye Colour Quads – Shades of Jade & Berry Haute (Limited Edition)| £10 each
Honestly when I first saw these eyeshadows, I was least excited and that’s because I tend to fall for warm browns and burnt oranges. I was pleasantly surprised when I swatched these shades. Aah, these were just PERFECT for all skin tones including my medium tone!!! These are rich, blendable, buildable eyeshadows that coordinate beautifully. They deliver lightweight, high-impact color and glides on evenly for a smooth finish. Its a long-lasting, fade- and crease-resistant formula and is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. The eyeshadows pack a punch on eye lids and these quads can easily fit into mini compacts I talked about above.
These were my top picks from the brand and I highly recommend checking this brand out as this needs more recognition in the beauty industry. Their products are totally worth checking.
Until next time
Ash xoxo

13 October 2017 at 1:24 PMEverything looks amazing. The lipsticks and cc cream would be my picks for sure. I’m a cream eyeshadow person so the compact palette is not for me.

13 October 2017 at 5:25 PMI have not tried anything from May Kay yet, your review and the swatches have made it hard for me which product to pick first. Scarlet red looks so perfect and the CC cream sounds great too. The packaging of those eye shadow palettes and the shades are just beautiful.
