Oud Rose Intense Parfum from Fragrance du Bois

Fragrance du Bois is coveted for its rich essences of nature, crafted by fifth generation perfumers from the 17th Century French tradition of Grasse.

Last year two gorgeous fragrances – Santal Complet & Oud Rose Intense from Fragrance du Bois caught my attention. Though the latter was just a vial at the time I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Nicola – The Director of the Brand very kindly sent me this fragrance this year so I can enjoy wearing it.

Oud Rose Intense is a sensual, sweet and intoxicating perfume. Its heady scent captures the excitement and intrigue of a romantic rendezvous. – Fragrance du Bois

This fragrance was launched in 2013 and the Perfumer Hamid Merati – Kashani is the nose behind this gorgeous composition.

Packaging: Needless to say, the fragrance bottles from FDB stand out! The fragrance comes in a heavy glass bottle with a weighted metal lid. The lid has Swarovski embellishments on the neck. The bottle comes in a very stylish velvet case with satin material on the inside. This looks like a box of an expensive jewelry piece. You get such boxes with Diamond or 22 Carat gold jewelry necklaces. This obviously showcase every little detail added to this luxurious fragrance.

Notes & Composition:

Top notes: Fresh bergamot, fruit notes

Heart notes: Rose, geranium, sandalwood, amber

Base notes: Oud

The fragrance opens with fresh bergamot combined with fruity notes followed by a heart of rose, geranium, sandalwood and amber. The dry down consists of 100% pure organic Oud that leaves an intoxicating trail.

I do not usually wear rose fragrances but this is unique and I haven’t smelt anything like this before. The Oud in this is so well blended with the rose that it just smells intoxicating and so attractive!

Performance: This is a beast-mode fragrance and will not disappoint anyone in terms of performance. This fragrance leaves a mesmerizing trail and stays on skin for over 10 hours and even longer on clothes.

Final thoughts: If you love rose, you’d definitely enjoy Oud Rose Intense from Fragrance du Bois. This fragrance doesn’t have any hint of dirty Oud but the Oud here is very refined and well blended. Performance-wise, this fragrance is a top-scorer! Both sillage and longevity are impressive. This fragrance will make you feel very polished, sophisticated and classy. The fragrance is well suited for fancy dinners, red carpet events, special evenings or for occasions when you want to turn heads and stand out from the crowd. It is a compliment-getter!
