Winters bring the naturally flushed or just pinched cheeks and if you don’t get that natural blush on your face, blushers are the way to go! Today I am sharing my top picks for winter blushes 🙂
I don’t have many cream blushers in my collection but whenever I like to go for dewy makeup look, I reach for Illamasqua cream blushers. The pigmentation is great, the colour range is nice and they last all day. The best thing about these blushes is they don’t highlight problem areas and works for all skin types even the acne prone ones. A little goes a very long way so you don’t need much.
Seduce is a deep vintage rose shade that looks amazing on all skin tones. It is such a beautiful shade between pink and mauve toned blushes which I think I will be reaching for frequently all autumn and winter. Do check out Illamasqua blushes, they are great investment!
- Hourglass Surreal Effect | £69
Surreal Effect is a part of Hourglass Ambient Light edit – Surreal light Holiday Collection 2016 palette. It is a cool, pink rose fused with a soft, warm peach for a pop of flattering color. These are very finely milled and looks gorgeous on most skin tones. It shows up beautifully on my medium skin. I have done full review here.
Between the Sheets which is a beautiful cool toned soft pink toned blush that provides natural flush of colour to the cheeks. I look forward to wearing this blush often in colder months. This blush is matte finish without any sheen.
The longevity of colourpop blushes is also good so you need not worry about fading these from your cheeks. The best way to apply these is to use your fingers instead of brush.
Rose Paradis is a beautiful ultra finely milled blush that looks fierce and bold in the pan but it transfers beautifully on skin. These blushes are very pigmented so you need just a little dab with your stippling brush and it will give you most beautiful rosy finish to your skin. These are long lasting formula so you need not worry about touching up your blush. Highly recommend checking these out.
- Mac Cosmetics – Pleasure Model | £29
Pleasure Model was originally released as a limited edition extra dimension blush. Mac brought this blush back in a compact which was a part of Nutcracker Sweet Copper face compact later in 2016. It is a terracotta /copper-y orange shade blush with satin finish. This blush lasts upto 6 hours and looks beautiful on all round the year. I really like to wear terracotta blushes when I have my tan boots on brown leather jacket :). You can check complete review here.
- Sleek blush – Pomegranate, Flushed & Sahara | £4.99 each
Sleek does the most amazing blushers in drugstore. The pigmentation is great and these are very affordable but long lasting. I have only tried powder blushes and trust me this is the only brand for which I have most blushes from! Sleek blushes are often compared to Nars blushes for quality and shades but sleek ones are so affordable.
Pomegranate is a beautiful golden berry shade ideal for medium to dark skin tones and offers a subtle highlighting shimmer. This looks amazing on skin and lifts up entire makeup look.
Flushed is another deep toned blush more on plum and berry side and looks amazing on medium to dark skin tones. This has matte finish so if you have imperfections on your skin, this will not make them look stand out.
Sahara is sandy orangey brown, ideal for medium to dark skin tones and offers a matte finish.
- Becca Cosmetics blush – Amaretto | Limited edition
Amaretto blush first appeared in limited edition champagne glow collection by Becca which quickly went out of stock. This blush was most talked about in that collection along with the gold highlighter Prosecco Pop ofcourse. Both products were brought back in the form of splits. Amaretto is a dusty rose blush with a hint of terracotta in it. It looks beautiful all year round and warms up the face with just one swipe. The blush is intensely pigmented and has good lasting power.
- Makeup Geek Cosmetics – Infatuation | £9.25
Infatuation is true terracotta with matte finish. This looks amazing on medium skin tones. These are finely milled blushes that has buttery texture and looks flawless on skin. This blush glides exquisitely onto the skin delivering long-lasting pigmentation. The formula is fade-free that ensures long lasting pigmentation. Makeup Geek blushes are talc free so they are suitable for sensitive skin.
