Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L’Homme Le Parfum

The countdown to Christmas has begun already, and Men’s Aftershave, Colognes and Fragrances are something I like to explore for gifting purpose.

YSL is a big name when it comes to fragrances. La Nuit de L’Homme Le Parfum is an Oriental fragrance targeted towards men. The fragrance was launched about a decade ago in 2010. My husband wore this fragrance for our wedding and it really is a special one for him. This fragrance is well-loved in the fragrance community.

Packaging: The fragrance comes in a very stylish, elegant, black glass bottle with a hexagonal black weighted lid.

Notes & Composition:

Top Notes: Bergamot, Anise & Pepper

Middle Notes: Lavendar, French Labdanum & Fruity notes

Base Notes: Vetiver, Patchouli & Vanilla

The fragrance opens up with the fresh zesty burst of bergamot followed by spicy notes of star anise and warmth of black pepper. Notes of sweet yet herbal Labdanum intertwine with lavender and fruity notes that together leave an intoxicating trail. Finally woody vetiver, warm and sweet vanilla with exotic patchouli makes the dry down unique.

Performance: This is a great fragrance with moderate sillage but impressive longevity. The fragrance stays close to the skin after 2-3 hours but still smells potent at the dry down.

Final thoughts: La Nuit de L’Homme Le Parfum is a very seductive cologne for charismatic & dynamic men who want to be the star of the show! It is well suited for special occasions. It is also a great choice for well-suited men for settings like business meetings or dinners – particularly during chilly nights. The fragrance smells luxurious, deep, sophisticated & mature. The fragrance stays close to the skin for the dry down and smells very potent. If you want it for a strong projection, you should go for EDT version of this fragrance but for mature, sophisticated men, this is the one!
